A Quick Thought
“We are our desires.” –Aristotle
What is my deepest desire? I suppose it is to be loved, firstly by myself. I think everyone has conflicts with who they are and who they wish they could be, but after acceptance of self, the love of others is the next best thing. Like a love hierarchy, if you will.
What did Aristotle mean by “we are our desires”? He could have meant that without our desires, we have no motivation or purpose. If we are not constantly striving for something, some form of improvement, there is no true purpose to living. Our existence is based on these desires. I need a goal to define myself, and then perhaps happiness will follow.

Island Homes
These photographs give new meaning to ‘stranded on a desert island’. Sure, no one else is around and you’re surrounded by water, but you’ve got prime beach-front property, and I’m guessing you won’t be reaching for entertainment or basic survival anytime soon. Until the next hurricane hits…

P.S. If you were actually stranded, how would you react to your iPod running out of batteries? I think that might be my meltdown point. :)
A precaution, a relief
How odd that writing a will could take such a weight off my shoulders. It also helped to convince me that I still own my possessions, and not the other way around. And, in a weird way, I feel like being a lot more generous now – not that I believe ‘stuff’ can replace love.

Daydream
I see a light on up one floor
A world I’ve never seen before
I’ve lost my thought, I’ll disappear
Because I’m better there than here
